My boy had an appointment nearby, so we made a quick visit yesterday to the Bluebonnet Swamp before I had to get to wo
rk. The cool weather was very pleasant, and a welcome change from the sweltering summer afternoons. We saw a cottonmouth beside the trail; looked like he was trying in vain to find some sunshine. Poor snake seemed sluggish; just lay there.
